edith

Edith is a London-based electronic and rock musician who reinterprets the poetry of Korean poet Yun Dong-ju through a contemporary sonic lens. Her work explores the intersection of literature and modern musical expression, reimagining poetry not as a static artifact of the past, but as a dynamic art form that resonates with the present. By integrating Yun Dong-ju’s verses into electronic beats and rock-inspired textures, she seeks to expand the boundaries of poetic interpretation, transforming text into an immersive, multisensory experience.

At the core of Edith’s practice is the concept of ‘crossover’—not merely within musical genres, but across temporal and cultural divides. She experiments with the fusion of traditional and contemporary elements, bridging Korean literary heritage with global music trends. Through this approach, she challenges the structural conventions of popular music, offering an alternative perspective on form and composition.

Edith’s work illuminates the potential of Korean poetry as a foundation for innovative artistic expression, fostering new conversations around the convergence of literature and sound.
